The following is a list of anticipated public holidays for all States and Territories throughout Australia in 2012. These dates may be subject to confirmation or proclamation by legislative action or by variation of the award or workplace agreement.
An employee’s entitlement to a public holiday is based on the provisions of the
Fair Work Act 2009 and the relevant modern award, where applicable.
Local or regional holidays
It should also be noted that a public holiday can be declared for a particular region or locality within a state or a territory.
