The Australian Business Defence Industry Unit (ABDIU) is a federally-focussed organisation based in Canberra and serves member companies from all around Australia and from overseas. ABDIU members comprise companies in all defence-related activities and all sizes of business. The ABDIU is associated with the NSW Business Chamber.

To help members maximise their business potential through advocacy, market information and assistance in providing relevant products and services for the defence and broader national security markets in Australia and overseas.
What we do
The Australian Business Defence Industry Unit promotes a Sustainable Defence Industry in Australia for our member companies by:

helping identify business opportunities in the defence market through regular member-only information bulletins and newsletters

helping improve defence and industry engagement through regular member-only and other networking events and working groups with key Defence and Government decision makers

giving a voice to members by representing the concerns of business to Defence and Government at national defence industry advisory forums and through policy submissions, working groups, roundtables and direct engagement with Ministers and Defence executives

helping improve defence industry skills, cooperation and capability through regular workshops and referrals to other members, trainers and consultants

helping members meet workplace challenges - from managing WHS and industrial relations matters to exporting and expanding overseas - through the NSW Business Chamber’s highly skilled professional advisors.
