How to implement plant safety

Plant safety is a general term that refers to all OHS procedures concerning the machinery, equipment and appliances in your workplace.

Plant is included in occupational health and safety (OHS) legislation because of the potential injuries it can cause. These include:

  • crush injuries
  • hearing loss
  • burns and shock
  • fractures, sprains and strains
  • amputation or fatality.

There are specific actions that must be taken when plant is present in your workplace.
