Export Documentation Endorsement
The Illawarra Business Chamber provides Export Documentation Endorsement Services.

To facilitate a smooth passage through customs and successfully do business overseas, certified export documentation is required by many destination countries. The IBC (in affiliation with NSWBC) issue a range of essential export documents for this purpose.
A Certificate of Australian Origin is required:
  • To export certain goods from Australia
  • For customs clearance at the port of delivery
  • As stipulated in a Letter of Credit.

TAFTA Export Documentation
Australian exports must be registered under the Thailand-Australia Free Trade Agreement (TAFTA) and accompanied by a TAFTA Certificate of Origin in order to qualify for preferential tariff rates.
A Certified Declaration of Origin verifies the goods were manufactured outside Australia and is required when origin certification is requested by the destination country.

Document Certification
We can certify visa letters, commercial invoices, certificates of analysis, certificates of manufacturing and certificates of health and other such documents that require attestation by an authorised body.

Certificate of Free Sale/Manufacture
This is required as assurance that the products exported from Australia are the same as products sold in Australia; thus ensuring they meet all State and Federal regulations and legislation. It must accompany the export products or they will not be admitted into the country of destination.
The Illawarra Business Chamber is authorised to issue the above-mentioned export documentation on behalf of the Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and is acknowledged by the Australian Customs Service and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Accessing ASEAN made easy: export documentation
Australian exporters are entitled to reduced or nil tariff/duty rates on their goods into ASEAN as part of the ASEAN Australia New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (AANZFTA). This means your product becomes cheaper and more attractive for up to 570 million people.
Conditions:
1. The preferential tariff rates aren't automatic. To enjoy the AANZFTA preferential treatment you must register as an exporter to ASEAN and ensure your goods are accompanied by an AANZFTA Certificate of Origin.

2. A separate, valid AANZFTA Certificate of Origin is required for each shipment of goods in order to claim preferential duty rates.

3. Under the AANZFTA, goods that are wholly obtained or produced in Australia are eligible for the preferential tariff rates. Goods that are partly produced in Australia can also be declared as originating in Australia providing third country inputs have undergone a change in tariff classification as a result of production processes in Australia or include inputs from Asean nations. Australian Business International Trade Services can assist you with the classification process.

4. If you don't register, or your goods don't meet the rules of origin or lack an official AANZFTA Certificate of Origin, you can still export to ASEAN however, your goods will be subject to import duties at higher general duty rates so your buyers will have to pay more.

Please note: the AANZFTA does not "mirror" the Thailand-Australia FTA and you must chose which FTA is most suitable for your customers in Thailand.
What you need to do
Step 1:
A. Complete an Exporter Declaration Form under Australia-ASEAN Free Trade Agreement (AANZFTA) to register your business under this FTA.

B. If you haven't used Certificates of Origin before you will also need to complete the Export Information form.

Step 2: Send your completed form(s) to NSW Business Chamber - Australian Business International Trade Services.

Step 3: Once your form(s) have been received and accepted, we will send you the AANZFTA Certificate of Origin templates.

Should you require any assistance in completing the forms, our Documentation staff are happy to help.
