The IBC is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Mike Leask as its new Chief Executive Officer.
“Mike comes to the IBC with the valuable combination of previously working in a member-based organisation and, earlier in his career, running his own small business,” said Mr Les Dion, President of the IBC.
“This combination means Mike has a real understanding of the challenges facing our members and how to support them as they grow their business.
“The IBC Board looks forward to working with Mike to build on the current strength of the organisation and continue to deliver positive outcomes for members.
“Mike will start his new role on 13 February 2012,” concluded Mr Dion.

Prior to becoming CEO of the IBC, Mike was Director of Membership & Commercial Relations at the Australian Retailers Association (ARA). This role involved promoting membership services to retailers, marketing ARA resources to corporate partners, seeking affiliations from like minded employer groups and liaising with government officials.
Mike began his career working in the finance sector for three years, before setting up his own furniture importing, manufacturing and retailing business.
Mike has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from UNSW, with a double major in Economics and Finance.
