Kevin Sheedy, former AFL captain, author and now coach of Sydney’s newest AFL team, Greater Western Sydney Giants, will reveal the secrets of his brilliant career, his dedication and perseverance and how the Western Sydney business community can apply those lessons to their own business success.
Mr Sheedy will speak to an audience of local businesspeople at a NSW Business Chamber Business Leaders Lunch at ANZ Stadium on Thursday 23 February 2012. The audience will have an opportunity to ask their questions to Mr Sheedy as part of a Q&A session that will draw out the life lessons of his career.
One of the AFL’s most enduring figures, Kevin Sheedy has been involved in the game as a player and coach for more than five decades with an unsurpassed record of involvement in over 1000 games and eight premierships.
“This is quite a coup for the business community of Western Sydney to be able to hear from one of Australia’s sporting greats. It’s an opportunity that shouldn’t be missed and should not be limited to AFL fans,” said Stephen Cartwright, CEO of the NSW Business Chamber.
“The majority of Mr Sheedy’s time is occupied preparing the Greater Western Sydney Giants for their inaugural season but he’s taking this moment to talk to Western Sydney’s business community about the linkages between his success in sport and the challenges of running a successful business.”
