Ahead of 2013 Federal Election, NSW Business Chamber united with Chambers across the country under the banner of Small Business: Too Big to Ignore to put small business issues at the top of the political agenda.
In August 2013, we embarked on a month long roadshow with the SkyBoard - the Southern Hemisphere's largest mobile billboard - covering thousands of kilometres, stopping at 50 towns up and down the state to raise the awareness of the issues with local communities. Many local candidates came to pitch their support for small business and discuss their policies with business owners.
As part of the campaign, we identified four areas of reform that critical to small business survival and success.
1. Cut down on red tape
2. Simplify the tax system
3. Make it easier to employ people
4. Build better infrastructure
