The NSW Business Chamber, the state’s peak business organisation, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Adam Zarth as the new Executive Director of Illawarra First and the Illawarra Business Chamber.
Mr Zarth will take up this position on 15 January 2018 and will continue the work of the Illawarra First and Illawarra Business Chamber, in developing and leading advocacy in the region and providing support to local businesses.
“Adam is a highly experienced professional with an accomplished background which includes advising the NSW Government. He has exceptional policy development and advocacy skills and he will be a great supporter and champion for business in the Illawarra,” said NSW Business Chamber Chief Executive Officer, Stephen Cartwright.
“The Illawarra is the state’s third largest economy. The continued transition of the Illawarra economy presents an important opportunity for the NSW and Australian economies. The work of the Chamber and Illawarra First is focussed on securing future opportunities for the region and we know Adam will build on the success already achieved,” Mr Cartwright said.
President of the Illawarra Regional Advisory Council, Janine Cullen, welcomed Adam’s appointment and looks forward to working with him to progress key initiatives.
“The Chamber and Illawarra First are working with the Federal, State and Local governments to promote the competitive advantages of the region and to secure future investment to sustain continued growth. We have made some big inroads over the last two years and with Adam at the helm we look forward to further success,” said Janine Cullen.
Mr Zarth said he was delighted to be taking up the role and continuing the important work of the Chamber and Illawarra First.
“I have already had an opportunity to meet with a number of business leaders and hear from them about the potential of the region and the direction required. There have been some notable successes over the last few years and I look forward to supporting business, both big and small, right across the Illawarra,” said Adam Zarth.
“This is a region with a tremendous amount to offer and I will be proud to represent it. I look forward to meeting more business leaders and community groups in the coming months. I will be making the strongest possible case for the region and of course supporting business through the provision of member services and industry-leading support,” said Adam Zarth.
