The 2019 Mid North Coast Regional Awards are being held at Sails Port Macquarie by Rydges, on Friday 13 September, commencing at 6.30pm. The night will celebrate business and provide an opportunity to showcase outstanding businesses from around the Mid North Coast region.
There have been a number of Local Chamber Awards this year and a number of very worthy winners. The Regional Awards will see the winners from the various chambers going up against each other, to determine a Regional Winner who will then progress to the prestigious State Awards in November.
Proposed changes to the Luxury Car Tax
In the 2019-20 Federal Budget, the Government announced it would provide further relief to farmers and tourism operators by amending the Luxury Car Tax (LCT) arrangements.
Watch this space, because if you are an eligible primary producer or tourism operator you could be in for a very nice refund. The current eligibility criteria and types of vehicles eligible for the current partial refund will remain unchanged, under the new arrangements.
The proposed changes are outlined below:
Current law: Eligible primary producers and tourism operators are entitled to a partial refund of 8/33rds of the total LCT borne on eligible vehicles. This refund is capped at $3,000.
New law: Eligible primary producers and tourism operators will be entitled to a full refund of the total LCT borne on eligible vehicles. This refund is capped at $10,000.
As with all business decisions, please consult your professional advisors before making any decisions.
