Access to finance is critical in order to grow your businesses. Over the past year, the banking sector has been working hard to earn back the trust of the Australian community and improve its relationship with all customers, including small and medium sized businesses.

To discuss these themes with us, and outline the new Banking Code of Practice, we will be joined by the Hon. Anna Bligh AC, Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Banking Association (and former Premier of Queensland) at an exclusive Small Business Breakfast on Friday 28 February.

The event will be free for all members of the Illawarra Business Chamber and local Chambers of Commerce.

The new Code of Practice for Australian banks has been in place since July 2019, and represents a commitment to higher standards and more ethical behaviour.

For the first time, the code contains a dedicated small business section, which includes things like simplified contracts and fairer loan conditions.

Ms Bligh’s comments will be followed by an informative panel discussion and an interactive Q&A, so be sure to come along and get involved in this important discussion.
