Sonya Moulang, a cafe owner in Campbelltown, was paying up to $3,000 for energy every quarter.

Sonya is a Campbelltown native, born and bred in the Western Sydney suburb. She’s always loved the hospitality industry so bought a cafe on the main street two years ago – Bar Centrale on Queen.

“I always wanted to do it, it’s much better being my own boss. I want to give customers what they want, and doing what I’ve always wanted to do in life is much more rewarding,” says Sonya.

“One of the main focuses of my business is to train up the kids in the area. We take a lot of work experience kids and high school kids. And work with a disability employment agency too.”

The cafe’s energy costs have always been a concern of Sonya’s. “Energy costs were a killer, my bills were up to $3,000 each quarter! That’s a months’ worth of rent. It’s our second highest overhead.” 

NSW Business Chamber Energy were able to find her a much cheaper deal. The free comparison and switch service identified an estimated saving of 33% on her future bill.
